Football Sponsorships in the Indonesian Market
Industry landscape of major football partnerships
BRI Liga 1 Partnerships
Indonesia's top-tier football league, BRI Liga 1, has seen growing investment from international gaming brands in recent years. Major clubs such as Persija Jakarta (The Jak Mania), Persib Bandung (Bobotoh), Bali United, PSM Makassar, Arema FC, and Persebaya Surabaya have entered into various commercial partnerships with betting operators. These sponsorships typically include jersey branding, stadium advertising, and digital media campaigns targeting the passionate Indonesian football fanbase.
International League Visibility
Indonesian betting platforms frequently leverage international football sponsorships to build brand recognition locally. EPL (English Premier League), La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and UEFA Champions League broadcasts in Indonesia often feature gaming brand advertisements. The FIFA World Cup and AFF Cup (ASEAN Football Federation Championship) represent peak viewing opportunities, with Indonesian fans passionately supporting Timnas Indonesia (nicknamed Garuda). These global competitions drive significant betting volume across Southeast Asian markets.
Player Ambassadorships
Beyond team sponsorships, individual player endorsements have become increasingly common. Former Indonesian national team stars and current BRI Liga 1 players occasionally partner with gaming brands for promotional campaigns, social media content, and community engagement initiatives. These partnerships help build trust and credibility with local audiences who follow their football heroes both on and off the pitch.
